In the small island of Ventotene two groups of people spend their holidays in two adjoining houses. A group headed by the journalist Sandro Molino and his companion Cecilia Sarcoli. The other group is headed by Roger Mazzalupi, a wealthy owner of shops, typical representative of "generon" Roman. The first group are: a daughter, Martina, her daughter and Mauro, the actor Mauro (formerly Cecilia's), the friend of him Francesca (girlfriend at the time of Sandro), Betta and Graziella (acquaintances of Cecilia ), Ivan, son of Betta, and finally Roberto, who wanders from Africa to Cuba and other shores, with assignments (to him) officers.
