Tirlittan (1958)

 The children's film, written and directed by Maunu Kurkvaara, is based on Oiva Paloheimo's storybook of the same name. Young Tirlittan is separated from his family after lightning strikes his home. In search of a new home, he gets to know a friendly police officer, a lady with bone light and a circus director. Tirlittan ends up as an attraction at the circus, where his parents find him.

 In a small provincial town, eleven-year-old Emilia lives with her family. One day, new neighbors move in, Rolanas and his father. Both children begin to make friends, but because of shyness they communicate with each other only through the balcony or through the sockets through the wall. One day, however, an accident happens to Emilia on the balcony, and her parents stop letting her go there. This motivates both children to a real direct meeting.
