Jauche und Levkojen (1978)

 The multi-part series describes the first three decades of life of Maximiliane Irene von Quindt, who was born at the end of 1918, in the final phase of the first World War, on the estate Poenichen owned by her grandfather. She never gets to know her father, as he falls in the last days of the war. Her Berlin-born mother Vera, who can't do anything with the child, soon leaves her at her grandparents ' estate to plunge back into city life, later marrying a Jewish doctor. Maximiliane grows up with the old Quindts and learns of their world.

Aglaja (2012)

Circus performers, members of a mixed Hungarian-Romanian family, are fleeing to the West in search of a better life from Ceausescu-era Romania. To feed themselves, they are forced to perform circus acts that involve extreme risks, for example, mother Sabina hangs under the dome of the circus by her own hair and juggles with lighted torches. Her daughter Aglaya fears every day that something bad will happen to her mother. This fear fills her whole life, but one day she will have to take the place of her mother.

Zbehovia a pútnici (1968)

 In one of his most typical films, Juraj jakubisko tells three stories, each of which is set in a different war time. The story zbehovia, based on the short story Ladislav the difficult military zbeh, takes place during the first World War. Its heroes are two deserters-the villager Martin and the gypsy Kalman, who enjoy temporary freedom on the eternal flight from the gendarmes. The second story called Dominika is set in the end of the Second World War – it takes place on the farm of the village farmer Perun and his charming daughter Dominika, where eternally drunk Soviet "liberators" interest and eventually execute anyone who does not like them even a little. The last story pilgrims then depicts the wandering of a fragile virgin on earth, depopulated by a global atomic war. The girl is probably the last person left alive on the whole earth. Her only companion is death itself, which is despairing of where God and men have come…
