Eleven-year-old Ingemar lives together with mother who is sick with tuberculosis, and with the elder brother. The father on official business is in Africa. To relieve mother of cares and to allow it to receive medical treatment a little, the fellow send to summer to the uncle to the remote settlement where everything is alien to it and it is unusual. But exactly there Ingemar gets acquainted with the Saga, the coeval, perceiving her sincere love simply as fleeting children's whim.
