Based on the book by Karel Capek. After many years of absence peasant Juraj Gordubal returns to his native village, where he was presumed dead. During this time, his wife took up with farmhand Stepan. Gordubal, however, does not see anything and all is friendly that even more frightening his wife and Stepan.
