Rzeka kłamstwa - Polish historical series based on the series of novels Ewy Szelburg-Zarembiny.Personal tragedies of people from poor social strata are shown against the independence and revolutionary movements in the russian zone in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The film follows their struggle for survival while maintaining dignity. It is also the story of the origins much of the polish intelligentsia. The main character of the series is Joanna, an orphan girl, stubbornly seeking happiness, whose life coincided with the time of the turbulent historical events, attended by Poles from the 1905 Revolution to the First World War.
