Achille, 13, lives with his mother Penelope, a supermarket saleswoman, in the idealized myth of his father Joe, a handsome, high-roller, violent and manipulative thug, who has been imprisoned since birth. Penelope is building a happy relationship with Alexis, one of her colleagues, whom Achilles despises and rejects. When Joe is released from prison, Penelope, although still attached to him, is no longer fooled and clearly keeps her distance, while Achilles takes the side of his father, despite several serious accidents that his father causes him, and tries to reunite the couple of his parents. After several adventures, Achille is violently disillusioned. When his father once again tries to blackmail him into suicide, Achilles takes him literally.
