Berlin, 1932. Boys Paul and Erwin-neighbors in one of the Berlin houses and best friends. Avid football players all over the yard, they only dream of a new leather ball. However, due to the poverty of their families, they can't afford much. When Paul's father, a Communist, is arrested by the Nazi police, and Erwin decides to join the growing Hitler youth organization, everything changes in their relationship.
