In the film, McLaren claims to have created the Sex Pistols and guided them in their short career until the success in the world of the music business, using them as puppets against their will, only for the purpose of promoting chaos, anarchy and accumulate money received from the record label that signed the band, i.e., EMI, A&M, Virgin, and Warner Bros. Records.
