Eva is a child of 11 or 12 years old, full of freshness and vitality,
but to whom life experience has already given a certain dose of cynicism
and perversity. She is employed as a handyman by a very poorly matched
couple: the husband, Hubert, a specialized worker in a chemical plant,
is taciturn and withdrawn; he has desires for little Eva that he dares
not tell anyone about; as for his wife, dissatisfied in her married
life, she brazenly cheats on him with a selfish and brutal don juan who
takes advantage of the situation odiously.
