The main heroine of this story is Monica Zverova, a 6th・grader who missed the lowest in the class alphabet, but won first place in a more important place. Monica is a successful or very successful reciter, the subject of horror of all participants of the Pushkin Monument. But Monica believes that only reciting poems can be successful. She has Dana, a friend of gymnasts and a promising handball player. She has a chance to be selected for the Olympic team. But Dana already knows that there is nothing easy in life and so on. She fights, works hard and strives. The same goes for Monica, but unlike Dana, her desire can be called a dream.
