A small town in the north. 15-Year-old high school student Ulla and Winfried love each other. They spend their first night together at a forest stream outside the city. Shortly thereafter, the stream becomes an object of contention - not only between them. During a class excursion to the water where plants and animals have been able to exist undisturbed, the students discover that someone is building dachas here and damming the stream for a trout farm. Ulla opposes this encroachment on the landscape protection area. But the one who builds is Winfried's father, general manager and influential. Everyone bows to power, except Ulla. In the end, she faces a school tribunal and is relegated.
