The series is about the family Behringer, living in Gräfelfing near Munich, a typical middle-class family of the late 1980s. The computer expert Florian and journalist Maria, both about fifty, living with her daughters, Tami, Katja and Alex in the Munich suburb of Gräfelfing. Grandpa Behringer lives in the same house, and a passion for Railways. The Frankish housekeeper Erna, who is not a commentator, is the backbone of the family.
