Holland 1944, at the end of the Second world war, canadian troops liberate Holland from the Germans. 12-year-old Jeroen, like many other children, was sent away from Amsterdam, where the hungry and dangerous. The boy is lucky he gets to the family of the fisherman where he adopted as his own. After the German occupation come canadian soldiers - liberators. Soldiers stationed in a small village by the sea. 12-year-old boy Jeroen fascinated by one of the soldiers, and in every way seeking friendship with him. Between him and the boy there is a mutual attraction growing into something more...
