A woman and her 7 children live on a farm in the South of France. Mother and the older children are working hard and liability otherwise in agriculture in any way, but this happy family does not bother - they are happy together. In children there is a father - a selfish, demanding and despotic owner of the farm. He is married, his family knows about children on the side. To the woman and their children as it relates to cheap labour, continually humiliating, controlling and cutting costs. After some shocking events, the woman realizes that the farm is slowly becoming a prison for her and especially for her children. At some point the situation becomes a stalemate and just before Christmas the mother is taking a very difficult decision...
